Committees

The Board of Directors may set up committees or task forces to support key work that aligns with the goals and priorities of the Nova Scotia Regulator of Respiratory Therapy. Some committees are required by legislation. Each committee or task force focuses on specific tasks to help ensure the organization runs smoothly. Board members may also be assigned a portfolio, which gives them responsibility for a particular area without forming a formal committee or task force. This helps make sure all parts of the NSRRT’s work are well managed. This helps ensure that different areas of the NSRRT’s work are properly managed.

*Board members, committee members, and or task force members can receive a payment, called an honorarium, from the NSRRT. This payment is meant to acknowledge their contributions to the profession. They are paid an hourly rate for attending meetings, and the Board decides the rate when approving the annual budget. The current hourly rate is $25/hour.
